What is GIS?

GIS is a collection of computer hardware, software and geographic data for capturing, managing, analyzing and displaying all forms of geographical information.

Our Mission

The mission of the GIS Office is to deliver complete, timely, and accurate geographic information that expands the City of King City ability to provide quality services. The Geographic Information System website promotes the use of GIS to quickly address problems and help in decision support regarding the land use, infrastructure and natural resources of our beautiful City.

GIS Office also works in cooperation with neighboring jurisdictions to maintain a seamless GIS database across the entire metro region. Because of this multi-jurisdictional effort, land use and transportation patterns can be modeled and studied on a regional basis as well as locally.
